Brisbane has two remarkable koala experiences, helping Australia’s icon from serious threats. Start with a behind-the-scenes koala tour of the world’s oldest koala sanctuary, where you get up close with koalas that love to be around people. In the Scenic Rim you will see a thriving wild koala population. Learn and discuss the invaluable scientific research being conducted; a truly wonderful and unique experience.

These are very informative experiences on a private tour of 6 max. A portion of your tour’s profits goes to koala conservation and rehabilitation, including veterinary care, maintaining eucalypt plantations and research. Health and wellbeing of the koalas is paramount, and due to the uniqueness of these experiences, availability is limited.

- Tour the state of the art Hidden Vale Wildlife Centre - where students and conservationists work on an ever-growing range of projects. With an experiences veterinarian and/or researcher, go behind the scenes and close to the wildlife. Possible animals include adorable dunnarts, bettongs and gliders being bred or cared for in research projects with conservation outcomes. Gain insights into the philanthropic work to care for and prolong our natural environment.

- Look for and observe koalas in the wild on the world’s first ‘Koala Safari’. Through the Hidden Vale Koala Project, learn about the research that’s helping to develop strategies to assist their future conservation. Once koalas are located, we discuss their collected data. This is vital research to understand how they move about in the wild and to understand the dangers they face, such as native habitat loss and disease. You’ll become a part of the project’s dream of creating a healthy ‘Koala Fountain’ to ensure sustainability of the koala population throughout the surrounding region.

- Enjoy morning tea at Spicers Hidden Vale – with wonderful views of the 12,000 acre property.

- ‘Koala Discovery Tour’ at the Koala Sanctuary – Be literally surrounded by the happiest and healthiest of koalas. With an experienced Wildlife Education Officer, watch a health check and learn about koala veterinary care. Get an inside look into the life of a koala and learn about their reproduction, conservation, and more. With an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit of the koala leaf sorting area. Exclusive access into a koala exhibit allows you to observe these amazing animals and snap the perfect picture.

- Gourmet Picnic Hamper for lunch by the Brisbane River.

- Personally guided tour throughthe sanctuary – One of the ‘Top 10 Zoos in the World’ (AOL) – Includes patting and hand-feeding plenty of kangaroos and seeing hundreds of other unique Aussie wildlife such as dingoes, wombats, Tasmanian devils, platypuses and emus.~~~~
