Itinerary:

Valid for 01APR24-31MAR26:

You will be picked up from your hotel for transfer to the cruise departure point. Join Sailaway VII from Port Douglas for a full day Mackay Cay Outer Barrier Reef cruise. Check-in at the Sailaway office at the marina at 7:30am. Upon boarding, guests are welcomed with local tea and coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit, followed by a safety briefing. The sail departs from Port Douglas, heading towards Mackay Cay Outer Barrier Reef. On the way to Mackay Cay, a reef interpretation talk is provided for guests to learn about the Great Barrier Reef. Upon arrival at the protected mooring at Mackay/Undine Cay, guests are given a snorkel safety briefing, and snorkel equipment is distributed. They are then transferred to the first reef site, where they can participate in various nature activities such as swimming, snorkelling over the coral gardens, and guided snorkel tours by a marine biologist. A tropical buffet lunch is served on board Sailaway VII. After lunch, guests move to the second reef site, where nature activities resume, including a glass bottom boat tour and reef interpretation, free time snorkelling, transfer to the coral cay for exploring, and relaxation and swimming. Afternoon tea, coffee, cakes, and fresh fruit platters are served on board. At 2:30 pm, Sailaway VII sets sail, departing Mackay Cay and sailing back to Port Douglas. During the sail, guests and crew interact on the day’s sightings. The trip ends with the boat arriving at Port Douglas at 5:00pm, then transfer back to your hotel.

For tours including snorkeling:

- To participate in the activity of snorkeling, you must be confident in the water with the capacity to swim unassisted. If you are a poor swimmer, you may not be suitable to snorkel in the open water. Not all passengers will be suitable to snorkel, and the experienced crew have the discretion to advise against snorkeling if deemed "not suitable for the activity". This is for the safety of the passenger.

- Please be advised snorkeling can be a strenuous physical activity, even in calm water and that older people are at an increased risk of death and /or injury due to a higher incidence of medical conditions made worse by physical exertion, such as heart disease and stroke. All passengers intending to snorkel will be asked to complete a Medical Declaration for Snorkeling form. The experienced crew will discuss any issues relating to medical conditions and swimming ability. Sailaway reserves the right to decline any passenger from participating in snorkeling if staff are concerned about your health condition and/or swimming ability.
