Whitsundays: Travel Tips
Weather Guide
The Whitsundays
Summer 22ºC to 30ºC
Autumn 16ºC to 29ºC
Winter 12ºC to 23ºC
Spring 16ºC to 30ºC
What to bring
In the Whitsundays casual dress standards apply. Lightweight clothing
is suitable all year round, however bring something warm to slip on, as the temperature drops at night during winter. To ensure adequate protection from the sun we suggest you bring a broad-brimmed hat, SPF 30+ sunscreen, sunglasses and a long sleeved shirt with a collar.
Beach Safety
Queensland has some of the world’s best beaches, however care and caution should be exercised at all times. Please remember to swim between the red
and yellow flags and listen to instructions from lifesavers and lifeguards.
Marine Stingers
The Whitsunday Islands, unlike mainland beaches in Northern Australia are historically not affected by the deadly Box Jellyfish. However, like many oceans
during some months there can be the presence of marine life capable of delivering painful stings.
